A vivid fantasy take

I had the pleasure of reading Valor as it was being written. I so enjoyed the imagery and was really taken by the story. I thought the character development ,plot and setting gave the reader quite the ride. I recommend the book for all ages. I especially recommend to my fantasy lovers like myself.

Uplifting and Mysterious Page-Turner

I couldn’t put this book down! Sticks and Danyu are such a great duo, and the themes of inner strength and unity are beautifully told. The story is exciting and full of mystery, but it also leaves you thinking about the light we all carry inside. This book is both entertaining and inspiring—a rare combination!

This isn’t just another fantasy story—Valor is an emotional adventure filled with rich world-building and meaningful lessons. Sticks’ transformation from a lost soul to a beacon of light is inspiring, and the battle between the Dark Order and the power within felt incredibly symbolic. As a grown woman and an avid reader, I randomly found this book as it was time to pick a book for my small book club. I thought why not read it and why not suggest it to my book group?
My kids are grown, but when they were younger, I read to them always even into their young teens, so this took me back to our adventure books!
This one is fun and definitely worth sharing. I was right on this one!
It took me a minute to adjust to young reader books again, but then I settled into it. There are characters I got attached to and had fun reading about their adventures – Sticks and Danyu – a little misbehaving, two boys figuring out what’s going on – the mystery about Sticks, the secret of their elders, and the village. There is their “ watchdog” that keeps them safe at all times. There are elders that teach them respect and who guide them as best they can! And the bossy teenaged girl who keeps an eye on them when the elders are busy!
What more can a reader ask for in a book? Oh, the adventure, the mystery, the swamp, and the creatures! Definitely worth reading!
